Choir Screen Figures, York Minster

Existing adjacent figures determined the aesthetic context for these naturalistic carvings, that complete the large series of figures across the Choir Screen and side aisles. Something contemporary is intended through the intense naturalism of the dress detail. They allude to Saint Ethelburga (6th Century), and Bishop Eborius (4th Century).
