Tetramorphs. Corbel Carvings at St Olave’s Church, York

Stone corbels supporting the roof trusses in the chancel at St Olave’s, were carved in situ. Other corbel stones were carved with text, and all adjacent label stops that frame the chancel windows’ hood-moulds, were carved as ‘eyes’ and gilded.
