Stone Memory

Made for the exhibition Art and Memory, at West Dean, Chichester in 2009.

‘But stone preserved the memory’ is the last line from Pablo Neruda’s poem ‘The Creation’ (1939). The occasion for the exhibition was the establishment of a National Collection of Contemporary Memorial Art. This piece is now in the collection at Grimsthorpe Castle, Lincolnshire.
